The Manhattan Project
The Manhattan Project Was An Assignment To Make Enough Of A Certain Type Of Uranium: Uranium-235.
This project was motivated by Dr.Sober and Albert Einstein(see home). Put in place by US President Ford in 1942. The test was called the Trinity Test in Los Alamos, New Mexico using a 'little boy' bomb type(exploding) and a 'fat man' type(imploding). During the Trinity Test bets were being made between scientists for this is the first time a nuclear weapon was ever put in use. Some scientists bet on theories from it blowing up Los Alamos to it breaking the Earth's crust and destroying the world. Even though the bets might have been a little far fetched they were not disappointed by their work. The blast itself was the same amount of force as 20,000 kilotons of dynamite exploding all at once! The heat itself made a sheet of glass 10 feet deep and 116 feet wide! When we (US) saw the destruction we knew it would be inhumane to not tell the Japanese about the bomb. So we warned the Emperor of Japan to surrender the armed forces of the Japanese military or face 'Prompt And Utter Destruction'. Many politicians and scientists pushed to not warn them in case the bomb malfunctioned. The Emperor did not oblige. So the U.S. brought the bombs to a little island base next to Japan. The island was called the Tinian Islands.
